“STEM Roots” is a comprehensive STEM program focused on innovative sustainable agricultural practices.
Students build hydroponic plant growth systems in groups and participate in nine activities focused on automating these systems. They explore topics such as hydroponic technology, efficient watering techniques, environmental monitoring, and the effects of climate variables such as temperature, humidity, and light on plant growth.
Students gain in-depth knowledge of the physical quantities that affect plant growth, analyze, and measure them
The program emphasizes practical skills in building and maintaining a hydroponic greenhouse, using IoT technology for real-time monitoring, and implementing electronic systems for automated plant care. Through these activities, students gain a deep understanding of sustainable agriculture, the integration of technology in agriculture, and the broader implications of environmental management during cultivation
